10 Reasons why you should consider Crocodile oil for Tattoo Aftercare

During the healing phase post-tattoo, your skin is busy working its magic, repairing itself from thousands of tiny needle pricks. Crocodile oil aids in this process in much of the same manner as other aftercare products, if not better.

Why not Lotions, Creams or Petroleum?
Although jellies and lotions are available at your local drugstore, they generally contain ingredients (such as mineral oil and alcohols) that have recently been proven to be more harmful than beneficial for tattoo health. These ingredients clog pores and dry the skin, not helping to actually heal. Unlike conventional moisturizers and salves, such as Vaseline, crocodile oil contains no synthetic or potentially harmful ingredients that may negatively affect the healing process or cause side-effects.

These are the reasons why crocodile oil could turn out to be your perfect tattoo aftercare product.

1.  Moisturizer your skin
Crocodile oil extracted from crude fats of crocodile. Crocodile oil contains long-chain fatty acids, likes Omega 3,6,9 which plays a physiologic role in maintaining a healthy skin barrier and it said to be very moisturizing ,especially for the drier skin,  meaning  it won’t let your  skin get too dry and take away itch.

2. Protection
Crocodile oil found to be anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, which can help prevent your tattoo from getting infected. Tests have also shown that the antibiotic properties found in crocodile fat kill strains of virulent bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, known to cause serious and sometimes deadly skin infections in human beings. Crocodile oil has also proven to be effective in helping to heal Candida imbalances. In their tests, scientists found that crocodile oil exhibited a maximum antifungal activity of 81.7%!

3. Reducing tenderness, redness and swelling with anti-inflammatory property
Not only is it effective against infection, it also has strong anti-inflammatory properties as well. It naturally soothes the pain and irritation associated with getting a tattoo. Tattoos are essentially skin wounds and must be properly cared for. Crocodile oil packed with fatty acids, like omega 3, 6, and 9, which are anti-inflammatory i.e. will lessen the appearance of redness for sensitive, pinky-prone skin.

4.  Antioxidants and Free radicals
Antioxidants protect skin cells from chemicals, drugs, pollutants, and ultra violet rays that produce free radicals that attack healthy cells and cause skin damage. The presence of Vitamin E & A in crocodile oil which knows as antioxidants   plays two roles: it keeps your skin smooth, preventing dryness and cracking, but also blocks free radicals from your body which keeps your skin youthful in appearance.

5. Skin Rejuvenation
Study shown that using crocodile oil helps wound heals faster, and makes it less itchy, dry and flaky. Proteins in crocodile oil assist in rejuvenating the skin after the trauma of tattooing. As it contains oleic acid or Omega-9, which is a key ingredient for cell regeneration. The proteins repair damaged cells at a normal, healthy rate throughout the healing process. According to the study, crocodile oil can significantly accelerate the wound-healing process, as well as reduce the appearance of scars. The healing properties of crocodile oil also help your tattoo to retain maximum color and definition as it heals, and prevents scabbing and scarring, thus reducing the need for future touch-ups.

6. Let it breath
With a fresh tattoo it can be tempting to apply too much aftercare cream, however this can prevent your skin from breathing but your skin needs to breathe to promote and speed the healing process. With crocodile oil, your skin can only absorb a certain amount, so a thin layer with highly penetration and Non-comedogenic property are all you need – absorbs without leaving a greasy feel and does not clog pores.

7. Hypoallergenic
Crocodile oil has the same composition as human skin oil. Crocodile oil will rarely be allergic when applied to human skin and therefore will be a very well-accepted and safety product to use.

8. Cruelty-Free
Although Crocodile oil is an animal by-product and until very recently has been discarded. No crocodile will be killed just to take its fats as there is only approximately 600 grams of fats that can be taken from single crocodile. The fat from the crocodile is collected when the meat is trimmed and prepared.

9. Alternative Uses
Crocodile oil can be developed for various range of cosmetic and skincare products, e.g. skincare oil for moisturizing the skin, facial cream and body lotion, balm, soap, facial mask, hair mask or even shampoo and conditioner.

10. Natural skin remedy
Crocodile oil has been used for centuries as a powerful skincare treatment for skin conditions, irritations and infection-specially Eczema and Psoriasis.
